Oh Malaysia, you’re lovely.

Hello everyone,
Today is Malaysia’s National day, so today’s post is a little different. It’s going to be a little bit…patriotic. No, I’m not homesick.

Now, you must all be puzzled and wondering: Hakim? Patriotic? What?!

Relax. Take a deep breath. Give your brain cells a rest. All will be revealed.

No, I have not been brainwashed by jingoistic nationalists. It’s just that ever since I’ve been in France, I’ve begun to appreciate Malaysia more for what an awesome country it is. Leaving your country for a while to live in a foreign place really makes you realize so many things about your country.

I now have a fridge!

Yesterday, I received the fridge that I ordered online a couple of weeks ago from AlphaPrice. It cost me 268.61 including shipping, which is much more than what my friends paid for their fridges. But that’s because they all bought them second hand from the seniors. On average they paid no more than 60 euros for theirs. Second hand is definitely cheaper, but I decided to get a fridge online because I was looking for a smaller one which could fit under my desk.

I’ve visited my friends’ rooms a few times, and I find that a big fridge really looks out of place and it just clutters up the whole room and makes it feel so tiny and cramped. I figure it doesn’t really matter that I paid 4.5 times as much as my friends, because I’ll be staying in France for 5 years, and if you divide the cost over 5 years, it’s not so bad. Definitely a good buy.

Blog traffic source statistics

I was just looking at my blog statistics on Google Analytics, and what really interested me was the Traffic Sources Overview which tells me what Google search keywords bring traffic to my website. You might imagine that a search for my name would be the biggest traffic source, but prepare to be surprised.

Paris, Friends From Around France, and Mint Tea.

Current location
In my room: Chambre 1403 Bâtiment AB, Résidence Universitaire Jean Medecin, 25 Rue Robert Latouche, 06200, Nice, France. (Now that you have my address, you must send me presents)
Now listening to
Owl City – current song: Hot Air Balloon
Sleepy, impatiently waiting for my hair to dry (it’s getting quite long now and takes forever to dry)
Last meal
Tuna sandwiches with mayonnaise (I only intended to have that as a starter to be followed up with spaghetti, but then I ended up only having sandwiches for buka puasa – no surprise of course, since I ate six slices of bread and finished two cans of tuna)
Other activities
Sipping tasty tasty mint tea.

image Pictured to the left is the delicious tea that I am enjoying right now. Well of course, as I’m writing this, there aren’t any more sugar cubes on the plate because most of them are in my tummy, and the rest have dissolved into hot, steamy minty goodness in a purple cup.

At this point I’ve actually finished the tea; it’s so good I can’t even get through one paragraph before consuming all of it. I shan’t brew anymore because this is already my third cup tonight and it’s terribly expensive tea, all the way from China, with mint from Morocco, which is fancy enough for me.

I bought it in a tea shop along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, when I was in Paris during the weekend. If you’ve been following the updates on my blog recently, you should know that I’ve been  you must obviously be reading the wrong blog, because I haven’t posted anything in ages.
